A Khmer Girl Makeup Tips for You

Heavy pancake foundation that is applied with a sponge really wipes out any individuality that one’s face may have. Now, though, there are liquid foundations that are very, very thin, hardly noticeable, so that if one does have a blotchy skin or one with uneven pigmentation, this kind of foundation evens the look of the skin but is almost invisible. A touch of rouge and one’s face has a very natural but even look. If you want to be dressy in the evening, use a touch of translucent foundation around your eyes, and then use a little tawny-colored gel that comes in a stick. So many women make the mistake of wearing a bright-red lipstick for dramatic effect, when in fact if they wore no lipstick and concentrated on their eyes they’d be much better off. Avoid having bright-colored lips. Very muted colors are so much more effective. In general outdoorsy blondes should forget eye make-up. If you go out in the daytime with eye make-up on, you may end up like you’re in some kind of carnival. At night if you feel like you’re pretending to be somebody else, all that you do for your eyes is to curl your eyelashes and use a soft-brown mascara to darken the tips, because they are very blond. Once in while, you can put on a faint touch gray eye shadow.

Don’t spend much time on make-up. Ten minutes is enough. However, spend time on your eyes when you’re going before the camera because there is no way to do good eye make-up quickly. In general an outdoorsy type who overloads her eyes just looks silly. If you have black hair and dark skin, concentrate your make-up almost entirely on your eyes. Having no lipstick, very light foundation, and combined with dramatic eyes can come out of that black-haired frame. It’s very effective. However, if you’re very blonde and have very, very pale skin, wear a liquid base with a glowing pink tone and delicately rouge your cheeks. Apply gray-silver ash shadow on your eyes very carefully. Then touch up with a little yellow and gold.

What it comes down to is that each woman must be honest with herself and pay careful attention to how she can enhance her own personality.

The same kind of individuality goes for perfume. It’s wrong to choose a perfume because you like it on someone else. In general outdoorsy types should avoid heavy, seductive perfumes. A light, clean fragrance suits outdoorsy women much better. Heavy perfume has a tendency to put on more than you should and the smell can be overpowering.

Remove your make-up with cleansing cream and wash your face with soap only once a week. Then apply freshener with cotton. After shower, use a body lotion—one with a light scent that will disappear quickly. Splash cologne on, run your hands through your hair and pat your face—and that’s that.

Use eye-make-up remover to take mascara off rather than the regular mascara remover. Just rub it across your eyelashes, let it set for a moment, then wipe the mascara off. It doesn’t break your eyelashes.

Once a week, use a beauty mask because it’s good for circulation and makes your skin tingle and glow. It has the consistency of toothpaste and is easy to apply. Cover your face and your neck with it, leave it on for about 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with tepid water.
